Playgroup is open 8am to 6pm on weekdays, 50 weeks a year. Children can be dropped us to us at 8am, 9am, 12pm or 1pm. Collection times are 12pm, 3pm, 4pm, 5pm and 6pm. We are closed on Bank Holidays and the first two weeks in August.

We encourage children to explore the environment around them, being able to make a choice. Available activities include art and craft, role play, dressing up, ICT, cookery, and music and movement. Children also have the opportunity to explore our sensory room and soft play area.

We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage, a framework for the provision of care and education. Its curriculum seeks to give children aged 0-5 the best start in life with a focus on six main areas of learning:

• Personal, Social and Emotional Development
• Communication, Language and Literacy
• Problem-Solving, Reasoning and Numeracy
• Knowledge and Understanding of the World
• Physical Development
• Creative Development

 

At Honeycroft Playgroup, our aim is to be considered as outstanding by each of our five key stakeholders: children, parents, staff, the wider community and Ofsted. In our latest inspection by Ofsted, in May 2010, overall, we were judged to be outstanding.

We have a multi-lingual team made up of both male and female staff that works together in a spirit of mutual respect and support to all.

We have a ratio of one adult to five children. This enable us to support individual children and enable them to feel safe, secure and happy.
